Pragotecna was founded in Trieste in 1947; its headquarters were located in a prestigious palace, while since 1990 the commercial seat in the industrial zone Lisert in Monfalcone has been operating on an area of about 10.000 m2 (of which 2500 m2 are covered) where the commercial offices, the show room and the warehouse for the daily departure of the goods to the clientele are located.
The company was founded by three Czech-Slovak partners: Lodovico Fischer, engineer, Paolo Walter, lawyer, and Franco Valta, businessman and brother of Mr Paolo Walter, who italianized his surname.
In 1973 and 1974 the sons of Franco Valta , Michal Valta and Roberto entered in the firm. In 1997, after managing the glass-sector and the department of ceramic plant supplying system together with his father in the Czech and Slovak Republics, Michal Valta died prematurely.
In 2001 the founder of the company died too, so Roberto took his place.
The third generation (Tommaso son of Roberto and Dr. Marco, son of Dr. Michal Valta) joined the company in 2004 and they acquired important duties and responsibilities in the firm administration.
Back to the first period of the activity, the families of the founders who boasted consolidated traditions in the ceramic and glass working moved Italy and decided to start an activity in the ceramic and glass branch. It was easy to renew the relationships with the native country and to start importing floor-tiles in glazed grès, baths, sanitary fittings and glass-blocks, particularly requested on the Italian market and necessary for the post-war reconstruction.
Over the years, Pragotecna consolidated important exclusive rights with selected companies specialized in the ceramic and glass branch and resilient flooring, taking care of the distribution of their products on the Italian market. Pragotecna developed a solid collaboration with several main Italian firms in the ceramic branch, proposing to its own clientele a very large range of choice, which besides being commercialized, can be installed and laid by specialized workers on demand.
Pragotecna has realized floorings and school coverings, hospitals and swimming pool centres.
The merit to have created this organisation is, apart from the chief, of a very efficient team and a network of agents who made the firm bigger and stronger on the market with their professionalism
Today Pragotecna is a company with a big heritage and long experience.
Besides the historical activity of exclusive distribution, the firm carried out important investments for the realisation of two new showrooms in Trieste and Monfalcone, which are in van thanks to the architectonical solutions used and for the products. The have rapidly become protagonist in the branch of the sale of floorings, walling and bath equipment to the private clientele.
